Hamas Terrorist Who Killed Israeli Near West Bank Settled Nabbed in Ramallah Hospital

A Hamas operative, identified as 37-year-old Qadri Samara, has been apprehended after fatally shooting an Israeli man near the Ein Riha spring in the Binyamin region on September 20. Samara had reportedly scouted the area the day before the attack, which occurred as many Israelis visited the spring ahead of the Yom Kippur holiday. According to initial investigations, Samara acted alone, driving to the site near the settlement of Neve Tzuf and opening fire on the vehicle of Natanel Shokrun, a father of six from the Alon Shvut settlement. Shokrun sustained fatal wounds and was pronounced dead at Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. His 16-year-old son, who was in the car, was unharmed.

A tracker from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) who was in a nearby armored vehicle spotted Samara, fired at him, and wounded him. Samara managed to escape to a medical clinic in Ramallah, where special forces from the Duvdevan unit located and arrested him in his hospital bed. Photos of the arrest circulated on Palestinian social media.

Following the attack, IDF forces raided the village of Bido, northwest of Jerusalem, where Samara resided. Palestinian reports indicate that approximately 50 villagers were detained by the IDF and held in a local house.

Natanel Shokrun was a high-tech specialist, working as an information systems analyst for Hakshara Hevra Le-Bitachon. He is survived by his wife, Meirav, and six children, the youngest being four years old. His funeral was scheduled for the evening of September 21.
