Former MK Moti Yogev Praises Aviv Blot, Urges His Appointment as IDF Deputy Chief of Staff

Former Member of Knesset and retired Colonel Moti Yogev has publicly commended Major General Aviv Blot for his leadership as head of the IDF Central Command. Yogev described Blot as one of the best commanders in the Central Command and the IDF overall, highlighting his professionalism, intelligence, decisiveness, and aggressive operational approach against Arab terrorism in the West Bank. He emphasized Blot's ability to balance firm counterterrorism efforts with maintaining Israeli security and law enforcement in the complex West Bank environment, including cooperation with settlement leaders.

Yogev criticized Defense Minister Israel Katz's recent remarks on a television program suggesting Blot's replacement, calling them inappropriate and unjustified. He suggested that Katz's comments might be influenced by internal Likud primary election pressures, which Yogev deemed an unprofessional reason that could harm security in the Central Command area.

Yogev expressed hope that IDF Chief of Staff will recognize Blot's value and recommend him for the position of Deputy Chief of Staff. He urged Katz to approve this appointment to strengthen the security of Israel and its citizens.
