Defense Minister Katz Approves Appointment of Dado Bar-Kalifa as Central Command Chief
The office of Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that as early as April, Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir recommended appointing Aluf Dado Bar-Kalifa as the commander of the Central Command. Zamir also requested Katz to interview Bar-Kalifa for the position. Katz conducted a personal interview with Bar-Kalifa in June and was impressed, concluding that he was the most suitable candidate to lead the Central Command. Katz has now decided to accept the Chief of Staff's recommendation and will announce Bar-Kalifa's appointment in the upcoming round of military appointments. Katz emphasized that his policy is to promote commanders with proven records of offensive operations and successes in the war of resistance, aligning with the security policy he leads alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
