IDF Eliminates Hamas Commanders Involved in October 7 Massacre
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), utilizing intelligence from the Shin Bet, conducted a targeted strike on Saturday that eliminated Yahya Hamduna, a militant from Hamas's military wing. Hamduna had participated in the October 7, 2023, invasion of Israel and the subsequent massacre.
Over the weekend, further strikes by the IDF and Shin Bet resulted in the deaths of two more Hamas militants. These included Muhammad Rifai, a member of the Daraj Tuffah battalion who also took part in the October 7 massacre, and Bashir al-Barsh, a commander of Hamas's elite Nukhba force.
According to the IDF, these militants were recently engaged in planning attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians and were working to rebuild Hamas's capabilities, thereby violating the ceasefire agreement. Their elimination was carried out to neutralize these threats. The IDF stated that measures were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance, before the strikes were executed.
