IDF Eliminates Hamas Khan Yunis Commander Involved in Oct. 7 Massacre

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Saturday that it eliminated a senior Hamas commander in Khan Yunis on Thursday. The targeted individual, Muhammad Suleiman Bayouk, served as a commander in Hamas's military wing and participated in the October 7th massacre. Following the attack, Bayouk was involved in planting explosive devices across the Gaza Strip to target IDF forces and actively promoted terror plots against Israeli soldiers and civilians.

According to the IDF, Bayouk also worked to improve the operational capabilities of Hamas militants and rebuild the organization's infrastructure, all while systematically violating ceasefire agreements. The IDF stated that its forces in the southern command are deployed in the area and will continue to operate to neutralize immediate threats.

This operation follows the recent elimination of other Hamas operatives. Just last Thursday, Sharif Shadi Ibrahim Labad, a Hamas Nukhba commando who infiltrated Israel on October 7th via the Erez crossing, was killed in northern Gaza. Additionally, Yusef Saad Al-Adin Rashad Zaim, another Hamas Nukhba commander, was eliminated in a separate strike. The IDF reported that both Labad and Zaim were recently involved in advancing terror plans and restoring the group's capabilities.

Earlier in the week, the IDF announced the killing of Jihad Samih Mahmoud Ismail in Khan Yunis. Ismail, identified as the head of a Hamas Nukhba cell, had also participated in the October 7th attack on Israel. He was involved in the abduction of IDF soldiers Omer Naotara and Oz Daniel, who were later killed, and Nimrod Cohen.
