Hamas Commander Who Participated in Oct. 7 Attack Killed in Khan Younis
The Israeli military announced Thursday that it had killed Muhammad Suleiman Bayuk, a Hamas commander involved in the October 7th invasion of Israel, in an operation in Khan Younis. According to the IDF, Bayuk was responsible for planting explosives throughout the Gaza Strip to target Israeli forces and had been working to restore the organization's capabilities.
IDF Spokesperson stated that Bayuk also promoted terror plans against Israeli soldiers and civilians. He was reportedly engaged in these activities, including systematically violating a ceasefire, during the ongoing war and particularly in recent times. The military stated that Bayuk was eliminated to neutralize the threat he posed.
IDF forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threats, the military added.
