IDF Eliminates Hamas Commander Involved in October 7th Attack
The Israeli military (IDF) announced the elimination of Hamas operative Muhammad Suleiman Bayouk during an operation in Khan Younis. Bayouk was identified as a commander in Hamas's military wing and participated in the October 7th "Simchat Torah" massacre, infiltrating Israeli territory.
During the ongoing war, and particularly in recent times, Bayouk was reportedly involved in planting explosive devices throughout the Gaza Strip aimed at harming IDF forces. He also allegedly advanced terror plans targeting Israeli soldiers and civilians, and worked to improve the operational capabilities and training of Hamas operatives, while systematically violating ceasefire agreements.
The IDF stated that the strike was carried out to neutralize the threat Bayouk posed. Southern Command forces are deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threats, according to the military.
