IDF Eliminates Hamas Commander Involved in October 7 Attacks
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of Hamas military wing commander Mohammed Suleiman Biyuk in an airstrike last Thursday in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza. According to the IDF, Biyuk was a participant in the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel and was among the militants who infiltrated Israeli territory.
Following the outbreak of the war, the IDF stated that Biyuk continued to engage in combat against Israeli forces. Recently, the military reported, he was involved in the placement of explosive devices targeting Israeli soldiers. The IDF also asserted that Biyuk attacked both military personnel and Israeli civilians and worked to restore Hamas's operational capabilities.
The Israeli military further claimed that Biyuk's activities persisted despite an ongoing ceasefire, which they allege he systematically violated. The IDF stated his elimination was carried out to neutralize an immediate threat.
