Hamas Commander Involved in Oct. 7 Attack Killed in Khan Younis
The Israeli military announced Thursday that it had killed Muhammad Suleiman Bayouk, a Hamas commander who participated in the October 7th invasion of Israel, in an operation in Khan Younis. Bayouk was a commander in Hamas's military wing and was involved in planting explosives across the Gaza Strip to target Israeli forces and civilians. According to the IDF, he also worked to restore the organization's capabilities and improve the readiness of Hamas operatives, systematically violating the ceasefire.
The IDF stated that Bayouk was eliminated to neutralize the threat he posed. Southern Command forces are deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threats, the military added.
