IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Commanders Involved in October 7 Attacks

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet security agency killed Abdullah Adnan Taha Abu Altaif, the commander of Hamas's Nukhba unit, in an operation in the Deir al-Balah area on Sunday. Abu Altaif participated in the October 7 massacre and actively fought against Israeli forces throughout the conflict. In a separate strike guided by Shin Bet in the Shati area, the IDF also killed Jalal Sabih, commander of Hamas's Darg Tafah battalion.

Earlier, the IDF announced the killing of Mahmoud Fatair, commander of the Nukhba unit in the Central Camps Brigade of Islamic Jihad, who was involved in the October 7 attack and the captivity of Israeli hostage Rom Breslavsky. Fatair was killed in Deir al-Balah over the weekend after attempting to advance terror plans.

According to the IDF, these operations targeted militants who were recently attempting to orchestrate attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians. The Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area under existing agreements and will continue to act to eliminate threats to Israel.

These coordinated strikes mark a continued effort by Israeli security forces to dismantle terror infrastructure and prevent further attacks following the deadly events of October 7.
