IDF Eliminates Hamas Commanders Involved in October 7 Attacks
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), utilizing intelligence from the Shin Bet, conducted a targeted strike on Saturday that eliminated Yahya Hamduna, a militant from Hamas's military wing. Hamduna had participated in the October 7, 2023, invasion of Israel and the subsequent massacre.
Over the weekend, further strikes by the IDF and Shin Bet resulted in the deaths of two more Hamas militants. Muhammad Rifai, a member of the Daraj Tuffah battalion who also took part in the October 7 massacre, was killed. Additionally, Bashir al-Barsh, identified as a commander of Hamas's elite Nukhba force, was eliminated.
According to the IDF, these militants were recently engaged in preparing attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians and were working to restore the terrorist organization's capabilities, thereby violating the ceasefire agreement. The strikes were carried out to neutralize these threats. The military stated that measures were taken to minimize civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance, prior to the strikes.
