Israel Captures Hamas Internal Security Chief in Gaza Raid

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced Tuesday that the IDF has captured a senior Hamas terrorist in Gaza. The detainee, Muin Arabid, served as the head of Hamas's internal security apparatus, a role analogous to Israel's Shin Bet chief. He was brought into Israeli territory while injured.

According to an i24NEWS report citing a leader of an unnamed Gaza militia, Arabid was abducted due to his alleged responsibility for torture, harsh interrogations, and executions of numerous Gazan residents, including militia members and civilians suspected of collaboration.

Katz's announcement followed reports of unusual strikes in Gaza City. During these operations, an armed force from an Israeli-backed militia attempted to abduct a Hamas figure near the American Hospital using motorcycles but was exposed. Following the exposure, the force came under heavy fire, with the Israeli Air Force providing cover strikes.

Speaking from Kibbutz Nativ Ha'asara, Minister Katz stated, "This is our policy, we don't wait for threats, but rather pursue Hamas terrorists, thwart them, and destroy their terror infrastructure. The response to every launch from Gaza will be powerful and clear. The test will not be in their launches but in our response, and it will be harsh."
