Netanyahu Reveals Hamas Official Captured Was Key to Hostage Concealment
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed details Tuesday about the arrest of a senior Hamas official, identified as the head of the organization's internal security apparatus, who was apprehended in Gaza. Netanyahu praised the Shin Bet and the IDF for their "daring operation" that led to the capture near the official's home.
According to Netanyahu, the arrested individual is "one of Hamas's most senior leaders" and was responsible for concealing and moving hostages, as well as hiding other Hamas commanders. Netanyahu further stated that the official had recently been involved in efforts to restore Hamas's governance in Gaza, engaged in "deception regarding the disarmament of the Strip," and assisted in carrying out terror attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians.
The Prime Minister concluded with a message to Hamas leadership, asserting, "My directive is clear: the State of Israel will continue to pursue all Hamas leaders and everyone who took part in the October 7 massacre."
