Jerusalem Terrorist Attempting Stabbing Attack Near Damascus Gate Neutralized

Border Police officers neutralized a terrorist who attempted to stab civilians near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem early Friday morning. The attacker, a 33-year-old resident of the Beit Hanina neighborhood in Jerusalem, arrived on a motorcycle around 3:45 AM and parked near the gate. After dismounting, he approached civilians and attempted to stab them. The intended victims managed to escape and alerted Israeli police.

Border Police officers operating nearby responded rapidly to the scene. Upon arrival, they identified the assailant brandishing a knife and lunging at one of the officers. In response, Border Police officers opened fire, neutralizing the attacker. No civilians or security forces were injured during the incident. The terrorist held an Israeli blue identity card, indicating he was a resident of Israel.
