Jerusalem Terrorist Neutralized After Attempted Stabbing Attack at Damascus Gate

A terrorist attempted to carry out a stabbing attack against security forces at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem's Old City early Friday morning. The assailant, identified as a resident of East Jerusalem, approached a force and tried to stab them. Security personnel responded quickly, neutralizing the attacker at the scene.

One person, described as a man in his 30s, sustained light injuries during the incident and was evacuated by an Magen David Adom ambulance to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. His condition was reported as light.

Jerusalem District Commander, Superintendent Asher Ben-Artzi, arrived at the scene and conducted a situation assessment. He received details of the event from the forces involved and commended them for their swift response, which he stated prevented further casualties among civilians or security personnel. Ben-Artzi asserted that "Jerusalem is safer than ever."
