Border Police Neutralize Attacker at Jerusalem's Damascus Gate

Border Police officers thwarted a stabbing attack early Friday morning at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. According to police, a 33-year-old resident of East Jerusalem approached a Border Police unit and attempted to stab officers with a knife. The officers responded by opening fire, neutralizing the attacker, whose death was pronounced at the scene. No Israeli forces were injured in the incident.

Jerusalem District Commander Superintendent Asher Fuld arrived at the scene and conducted a situation assessment. He praised the officers' actions, stating, "The officers acted exactly as we expect them to. As the commander of the Jerusalem district, it is important for me to emphasize that the city is safer than ever."
