Israeli Police Neutralize Suspect in Alleged Jerusalem Stabbing Attempt
Israeli police neutralized a young man suspected of attempting to stab an officer near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem's Old City on Wednesday. The suspect reportedly approached a police force in the area and attempted an attack before being stopped by police and Border Police officers.
Following the incident, a man around 30 years old sustained minor injuries from a shooting that occurred in the same area. Medical teams from the "Save a Life" organization (United Hatzalah) provided initial treatment to the injured man before transporting him to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. His condition was described as mild.
According to a statement from the police spokesperson, no officers were reported injured during the confrontation. The incident took place in the vicinity of the Damascus Gate, a significant entrance to Jerusalem's Old City.
