Roy Revivo Joins Elche, Eyes Spanish League Debut

Roy Revivo, the 23-year-old defender, has officially joined Spanish club Elche, signing a deal worth 2.8 million euros with a 20% sell-on clause. Revivo arrives in playing condition, having completed 90 minutes in a recent match against Maccabi Tel Aviv. Elche is scheduled to play Real Sociedad next Monday, giving Revivo six days to potentially make his debut or even start.

Revivo is expected to be Elche's primary left-back, a position previously filled by other players. His signing, along with that of Thomas Lemar on the final day of the transfer window, was noted by Spanish media as an unusual move, with Mundo Deportivo highlighting the acquisition of two left-backs on deadline day. Revivo has already been registered with the Spanish league.

Local Spanish media expressed excitement about Revivo's arrival, particularly noting his family connection to the Spanish league, as his father, Haim Revivo, previously played there. The Faro De Vigo newspaper mentioned that fans have missed seeing a Revivo in the Spanish league for over 25 years and anticipate his debut at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero on October 11th.

Interestingly, Revivo is not the only player at Elche with a famous footballing father. He joins Federico Redondo, Marc Aguado, and Pere Milla Jr., sons of former stars Fernando Redondo, Xavi Aguado, and Pere Milla Sr., respectively. Elche's CEO, Pedro Sciñuk, stated that while signing sons of famous players isn't a club strategy, it's a coincidence this season that benefits the team, as these young players have grown up around professional football.
