Maccabi Tel Aviv Defender Roy Revivo Joins Spanish Club Elche
Israeli football player Roy Revivo is set to fly to Spain to finalize his transfer to La Liga club Elche. The 23-year-old defender played his final match for Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday, a 3-1 victory over Maccabi Haifa at Bloomfield Stadium.
The deal, which was reportedly finalized early Friday morning, comes just before the European transfer window deadline. Initial gaps had reportedly stalled the agreement earlier in the window. Elche, who have been interested in Revivo since the start of the transfer period, currently sit 19th in La Liga with one point from their first three matches, having lost to Racing Santander and Barcelona and drawn with Deportivo La Coruña.
Revivo has had a significant career with Maccabi Tel Aviv, accumulating 136 appearances, scoring 12 goals, and providing 29 assists. During his time with the club, he won two league championships, two domestic cups, and a Super Cup earlier this year. Elche, promoted to La Liga for the 2024-25 season after finishing second in the Spanish second division, secured 15th place last season with 43 points.
