Maccabi Tel Aviv Transfers: Striker Abu Fani Departs, Left-Back Replacement Sought
Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Sayd Abu Fani, 20, has officially bid farewell to the club following his transfer to Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer. Abu Fani posted an emotional message on Instagram, thanking the club, coaches, teammates, and fans for their support during his time there. The transfer is reportedly worth $6 million, with an additional $1 million in bonuses and a 25% sell-on clause.
Abu Fani's departure coincides with the finalized transfer of left-back Roy Revivo to Spanish club Elche. With Revivo's move to Spain confirmed, Maccabi Tel Aviv is now prioritizing the signing of a new left-back.
The leading candidate to fill the void left by Revivo is Yahav Gorfinkel, 28, currently playing for AEK Larnaca in Cyprus. While no official offer has been made yet, the club is expected to act swiftly to reach an agreement with the Cypriot team.
Gorfinkel has prior experience in Israeli football, having played for Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Hadera, Hapoel Haifa, and Hapoel Tel Aviv before moving abroad. He joined AEK Larnaca in January 2024 and has made 15 appearances for the club.
