Israeli Footballer Roi Rebibo Signs Four-Year Deal With Spanish Club Elche

Israeli left-back Roi Rebibo has fulfilled his dream of playing in Europe by signing a four-year contract with Spanish club Elche. Maccabi Tel Aviv granted Rebibo permission to complete the transfer, and he flew to Spain on Tuesday before the transfer window closed. After passing his medicals, he officially joined the team.

Maccabi Tel Aviv will receive 2.5 million euros for Rebibo and will retain 30 percent of any future transfer fee. Rebibo will earn a net salary of 580,000 euros per season. To facilitate the deal, Rebibo reportedly waived 15 percent of his own transfer fee entitlement.

Elche had previously attempted to sign Rebibo earlier in the summer, but those negotiations did not result in a transfer. The club's management had previously stated their willingness to sell players if a suitable offer was received, though their primary focus is on winning titles.

Rebibo joins an Elche team that has yet to secure a victory in La Liga this season. Their opening match ended in a 1-1 draw against Deportivo La Coruña, followed by a 5-0 loss to Barcelona and a 3-2 defeat against Racing Santander. Rebibo's debut could be as early as Monday against Real Sociedad, or in the following week's away match against Athletic Bilbao on September 12. Elche is also scheduled to host Real Madrid three days later.
