Maccabi Tel Aviv Defender Roy Revivo Joins Spanish Club Elche
Israeli football player Roy Revivo is set to fly to Spain to finalize a transfer to La Liga club Elche. Revivo, a 23-year-old left-back for Maccabi Tel Aviv, played his final match for the club on Wednesday in a 3-1 victory over Maccabi Haifa at Bloomfield Stadium. The deal, which was reportedly agreed upon early Thursday morning, comes just before the European transfer window deadline.
Negotiations between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Elche faced initial hurdles, delaying the transfer. Elche, who had expressed interest in Revivo earlier in the transfer window, currently sits 19th in La Liga after starting the season with two losses and a draw. The Spanish club was promoted to the top flight for the 2024-25 season after finishing second in the Spanish second division last year, ultimately securing 15th place with 43 points.
During his tenure with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Revivo made 136 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 29 assists. He was part of the team that won two league championships, two domestic cups, and a Super Cup earlier this year.
