Israeli Mother and Daughter Likely Left Vienna Voluntarily, Police Find

A dramatic development has emerged in the case of the disappearance of Israeli mother and daughter Mali and Liel Yahalomi in Vienna. Investigations by Israeli and Austrian police suggest the two were not abducted but may have left voluntarily after careful planning. Authorities discovered that several days before their disappearance, location data on their mobile phones was deliberately erased, and there is suspicion they withdrew a large sum of cash in Israel prior to leaving.

The Vienna police stated there is currently no indication of criminal activity, including kidnapping or foul play, aligning with the new findings. Extensive inquiries have been conducted, including hospital checks and coordination with the Israeli embassy and consulate. Intelligence reports indicate the women, who observe the Sabbath, were last seen near a busy urban train station and adjacent public park in Vienna on the Sabbath.

Israeli Police Commissioner Major General Dany Levi convened a special briefing to intensify the search efforts, ordering unlimited allocation of resources to locate the women. Additional law enforcement personnel are en route to Vienna to support the investigation. The women last communicated with relatives on the Friday before the Sabbath, reporting all was well, but have since vanished. Their Vienna apartment was found completely empty, and they missed their scheduled return flight to Israel.
