Family Seeks Urgent Help in Search for Missing Israeli Woman and Daughter in Vienna

Mali Yahalomi, 50, and her daughter Liel, 23, have been missing in Vienna since last Friday, prompting ongoing search efforts by their family and authorities. Their last contact was a phone call on Friday when they reported being safe in their Vienna apartment, but since then, all communication has ceased. The two had been traveling in Europe since early August, arriving in Prague on August 4 and sending a video from Vienna on August 7 before disappearing.

They were scheduled to return to Israel on a flight from Prague but never boarded, and they also failed to pick up a meal they ordered from a Chabad house in Vienna. Mali's brother, Moshe, expressed concern, stating, "The situation is presumably not very good," and emphasized that the sudden loss of contact is highly unusual given their experience with international travel and habit of keeping family updated.

The family is coordinating with the Israeli consulates in Vienna and Prague, as well as the Modiin police district, but no new leads have emerged. They have enlisted the help of Magnus, a private search company, and launched a crowdfunding campaign to finance expanded search efforts, including local professional assistance, travel, translation, and logistics. The family stressed the urgency of the situation, noting, "Every hour is important," as the search continues without any indication of the women's whereabouts.
