Israeli Police Mobilize All Resources to Find Missing Mother and Daughter in Vienna

Israeli Police Commissioner Major General Danny Levi convened a special situation assessment to coordinate efforts to locate two Israeli sisters, Mali and Liel Yahalomi, who have been missing in Vienna since last Friday. The meeting included senior police command staff, intelligence and investigation heads, Israeli police representatives abroad, and the intelligence command post operating in Austria. Levi received a detailed briefing on ongoing investigative and intelligence activities both in Israel and internationally. He ordered the allocation of unlimited resources to advance the search and strengthen cooperation with relevant local and international agencies until the sisters are found.

The sisters disappeared after traveling from Prague to Vienna by train for a surprise birthday trip for Mali’s 50th birthday, organized by her daughter Liel. They were scheduled to return to Israel on a flight from Prague on Monday evening but never boarded. Their last contact was a family message on Friday before the Sabbath, stating they had arrived at their Vienna apartment, which was later found completely empty of personal belongings.

Austrian police, Israeli embassy officials in Vienna, and local Chabad community members are actively searching but have found no leads on the sisters’ whereabouts or the circumstances of their disappearance. The Israeli embassy in Austria issued an urgent call for information, providing a hotline number and urging anyone with knowledge to come forward. Family members expressed deep concern, noting the disappearance is out of character for the sisters. The investigation and search efforts continue intensively as time passes without any breakthrough.
