Vienna Police Find No Evidence of Third-Party Involvement in Disappearance of Israeli Women

The disappearance of Israeli mother and daughter Mally (50) and Liel (23) Yahalomi in Vienna continues to engage local authorities. The Vienna police informed the Israeli news outlet C14 that there is currently no indication of third-party involvement in their disappearance, which has been ongoing since last Friday. Cellular location data for the two women was last recorded on Saturday in Vienna.

Contrary to earlier reports, the Yahalomis neither visited nor registered at the Chabad House or any synagogues in Vienna during the Sabbath, nor did they order a Sabbath meal from kosher restaurants in the city. The Israeli Foreign Ministry and the consulate in Vienna have been actively involved since the disappearance, urging the public for information and coordinating with Austrian law enforcement to trace the women.

Senior members of Vienna's Jewish community have expressed a different perspective, suggesting there is no evidence that the women were targeted because of their Israeli or Jewish identity. They also consider the possibility that the women may have voluntarily chosen to disconnect temporarily, a theory that aligns with the police's current assessment.
