Austrian Police Provide Update on Disappearance of Israeli Mother and Daughter in Vienna

The disappearance of Israeli mother and daughter Mally and Liel Yahalomi in Vienna has entered its sixth day with ongoing search and investigation efforts. Austrian police issued their first official statement on Wednesday, seeking to ease fears of foul play. They confirmed that standard missing persons procedures are underway in cooperation with the Israeli diplomatic mission, and currently there is no evidence indicating a criminal act.

The two women had traveled from Prague to Vienna for a joint birthday trip but lost all contact with family and authorities since last Friday. Concern escalated when they missed their scheduled return flight to Israel, prompting the Israeli embassy to urgently appeal for public assistance and their son Ronen to fly to Austria to coordinate the search.

New details have emerged revealing that although Mally and Liel observed the Sabbath and last communicated with family before it began, they left their accommodation during the Sabbath carrying all their personal belongings and headed toward the local train station. It was also disclosed that they withdrew a large sum of money during this time, deepening the mystery surrounding their disappearance.
