Israeli Mother and Daughter Disappear in Vienna, Investigation Expands Across Europe

Mali and Liel Yehalomi, an Israeli mother and daughter, were last seen in Vienna about a week ago and have since been reported missing by their family. Surveillance footage captured them leaving their apartment carrying personal belongings, but no other individuals were seen with them. Authorities have expanded the search beyond Austria to other European countries, suspecting they may no longer be in Vienna.

The investigation is being conducted jointly by the Vienna police and Israel's Lahav 433 economic crime unit. Despite extensive efforts, no digital traces of the two women have been found, deepening the mystery surrounding their disappearance. A senior police official stated that the primary assumption is that Mali and Liel are alive, but the motive remains unclear. Investigators are exploring multiple scenarios, including a planned escape from the country, involvement of a local criminal gang, or a nationalist-related incident.

The Yehalomi family has provided testimony and information to the investigators and insists that the possibility of a nationalist motive should continue to be examined until the women are found. A gag order has been imposed on the case, and police emphasize that no investigative leads have been ruled out due to many unanswered questions.
