Passengers Subdue Attacker on Flydubai Flight, Avert Disaster

New footage has emerged showing the dramatic moments when Israeli passengers intervened on a Flydubai flight after an attacker attempted to crash the plane. The video, filmed by passengers, captures the Israelis rushing the cockpit, subduing the assailant, and searching for a doctor to treat the pilot who had been stabbed. The footage also shows the pilot recounting the stabbing and the subsequent emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.

Two of the passengers who played a key role in neutralizing the threat, Assaf Radwan and Zvika Mans, shared their experiences. They described the rapid sequence of events, emphasizing the quick thinking and bravery of several individuals, including Yaniv, who was the first to enter the cockpit. Radwan and Mans managed to overpower the attacker, identified as an Omani pilot, and prevent him from reaching the controls. The flight crew, including the Indian pilot, also played a role in removing the attacker and the injured pilot from the cockpit area, allowing the co-pilot to regain control.

Zvika Mans recounted the terrifying moments, particularly the screams of his daughters as the plane began to dive, which served as his motivation to act. He also highlighted his wife Tali's role in alerting him to the unfolding danger after she heard commotion outside the cockpit. Dr. Shota Musayev was also identified as one of the five Israeli passengers who heroically intervened.

Assaf Radwan reflected on the aftermath, stating that while in the moment the focus was solely on survival, the significance of their actions in saving 174 lives is becoming clearer as they review the footage. He noted that the fear was absent during the intense, task-oriented action but anticipates a fuller understanding of the event's magnitude in the coming days.
