Israeli CEO Neutralizes Attacker on Flydubai Flight

Passengers from a Flydubai flight arriving from Dubai to Tel Aviv are returning to Israel and will undergo debriefings regarding a security incident that occurred on board. The incident involved an attacker who reportedly stabbed a pilot, with one passenger, Zvika Mans, CEO of Bank Leumi's underwriting company Barak Leumi, credited with neutralizing the assailant. Mans described the event as "incredibly traumatic," recounting how his wife heard shouts from the cockpit and alerted a substitute pilot. Mans, along with two other individuals, then entered the cockpit and subdued the attacker. "I'm covered in blood. It was crazy," Mans stated, adding that a doctor on board treated the injured pilot, allowing the flight to continue. The flight crew included pilots from Fiji and India, while the attacker was from Oman. An Israeli official suggested the attacker intended to hijack the plane or cause a crash, comparing the potential outcome to the September 11th attacks or the Entebbe hostage crisis. Communications figure Rani Rahav praised Mans for his actions, stating, "Well done Zvika, salute to you, honor to the flag of Israel."
