Dramatic Footage Shows Israelis Subduing Attacker on Flydubai Flight

Dramatic footage has emerged from a Flydubai flight showing passengers, primarily Israelis, subduing an armed attacker in the cockpit. One passenger, with blood on his face, filmed himself shortly before the plane landed in Saudi Arabia, stating, "We have just taken control of the terrorists, we are about to land. Anyone hearing me, we need help." He added that everyone on board was safe except for the pilot, and they were landing in an unfamiliar area of Saudi Arabia.

Another passenger, Yitzhak Liber, recounted how several Israeli passengers intervened after the co-pilot, an Omani national, stabbed the pilot. Liber explained that they "jumped and got them out of the cockpit," neutralizing the attacker who was armed with a knife. He confirmed that the attacker was subdued and that the passengers were preparing for landing.

The incident began on flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, carrying over 150 Israelis. Israel received a distress code indicating unlawful interference, prompting the scramble of fighter jets and emergency security consultations. It later emerged that the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the pilot and may have intended to crash the plane, as it plunged approximately 14,000 feet in one minute before landing in Saudi Arabia.

Liber stated that one pilot was seriously injured, while another, though also wounded, managed to land the aircraft. Passengers took measures to secure the cockpit door after subduing the assailant. Israeli officials confirmed that Israeli forces are on the ground and the passengers are expected to return to Israel.
