Passengers Foiled Attempted Murder of Pilot on Flydubai Flight

Dramatic footage has emerged from a Flydubai flight that made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, revealing the harrowing moments passengers prevented an attacker from reaching the cockpit. In a new video, filmed shortly after the assailant who stabbed the pilot was subdued, Israeli passengers are heard defending the entrance to the cockpit. "They attacked us and we are guarding the pilot here," one passenger is heard saying to the camera. Another added, "They wanted to murder the pilot on this plane, we took control of the crew."

The passengers encouraged each other to document the events, with one saying, "Brother, well done, film everything," and another stating, "We are standing here, no one is passing the pilot's door." The footage later shows the attacker, with a passenger identifying him as the one who stabbed the pilot, just before a demand to stop filming is heard in English.

This new documentation joins previously released videos from the flight, including one where a passenger with a blood-streaked face described the takeover. He recounted how he and several young men tackled the knife-wielding attacker, rescued the pilot, and ensured two crew members secured the cockpit door. In a video recorded as the plane neared its landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, the passenger pleaded for urgent assistance, confirming all onboard were safe except for the pilot, who was seriously injured, and another pilot who was also hurt but managed to land the aircraft.

The testimonies corroborate the widespread panic that erupted on the flight, leading to the activation of a hijacking code and the scrambling of Israeli fighter jets. The sister of a passenger confirmed that a crew member shouted "Allahu Akbar" and ran towards the pilot before a group of Israelis intervened and neutralized him. Other families corroborated the accounts of extreme fear and cries for help during the attempted hijacking.
