Israeli Sources Investigate Pilot's Intent to Cause Flydubai Crash
Israeli aviation sources have informed Ynet that the investigation into the incident aboard Flydubai flight FZ1073 is not solely focused on a fight between the pilots. A primary line of inquiry now includes the suspicion that one of the pilots may have intentionally attempted to cause a catastrophic crash.
According to initial assessments, the co-pilot managed to thwart the attack, with Israeli passengers on board reportedly assisting in neutralizing the aggressor. One passenger recounted to i24NEWS seeing blood in the cockpit and one pilot sustaining a knife wound. She stated that Israelis, along with crew members, subdued the assailant.
Ynet emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and all potential scenarios are being considered. Flydubai had previously only described the event as a "violent incident" and a fight between pilots.
The aircraft made a safe emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
