Israel Braces for Heatwave Ahead of Yom Kippur Holiday
Israel's Meteorological Service has issued a forecast indicating a significant shift in weather patterns, with temperatures expected to rise 3 to 4 degrees Celsius above average for mid-September. Inland areas may experience heatwave conditions, known as 'shrav'. This initial heat surge, however, is predicted to be short-lived.
Temperatures are forecast to drop starting this Thursday, with the cooling trend continuing into the weekend. Friday is expected to bring the first hints of autumn, with a possibility of localized rain showers, particularly in northern Israel.
Despite the cooler weekend, the Meteorological Service warns that the heat is not over. A renewed warming trend is anticipated at the beginning of next week, coinciding with the approach of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.
