Extreme Heatwave Grips Israel With Heavy Load Warnings
An extreme heatwave continues to affect Israel, with temperatures expected to rise slightly on Monday, particularly in mountainous and inland areas, according to the Meteorological Service. Red warnings for heavy heat load have been issued for the Beit She'an Valley, Kinneret Basin, and Jordan Valley due to the severe weather conditions. Significant heat loads are also anticipated in the Judean Desert, Dead Sea, southern Arava, eastern Lower Galilee, Hula Valley, and Jezreel Valley.
Health experts are advising the public and travelers to stay in shaded, ventilated, or air-conditioned areas during peak heat hours, avoid unnecessary physical exertion in direct sunlight, and drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration. Maximum temperatures expected on Monday include 40°C in Eilat, 39°C in Beit She'an, 38°C in Tiberias and Ein Gedi, 35°C in Beersheba, 34°C in Mitzpe Ramon, 33°C in Safed, 32°C in Jerusalem and Lod, 31°C in Tel Aviv, and 30°C in Haifa.
No significant change in temperatures is expected for Tuesday, with conditions remaining hotter than usual for this season, especially in mountainous and inland regions. The oppressive heat is forecast to persist throughout the week.
