Israel Braces for Intense Heatwave as September Temperatures Soar
Israel is set to experience a significant heatwave, with temperatures expected to rise considerably across the country starting Tuesday and continuing through Wednesday. The Israeli Meteorological Service has issued yellow warnings for extreme temperatures in the Gush Dan region, Eilat Bay, and the southern Arava, effective from morning until evening.
Temperatures will be notably high, with Tel Aviv forecast to reach around 33 degrees Celsius (91.4 F), Jerusalem approximately 31 C (87.8 F), Tiberias nearing 38 C (100.4 F), and Eilat potentially hitting 41 C (105.8 F) on Tuesday. Similar conditions are expected to persist on Wednesday, with only a slight decrease anticipated by Thursday in some areas, though the weather will remain hot.
Authorities are warning of risks including dehydration and heatstroke, particularly for prolonged outdoor exposure during midday hours. The public is strongly advised to avoid extended sun exposure, drink plenty of fluids, and take extra precautions for children, the elderly, and individuals with chronic illnesses.
