Netanyahu Vows No Terrorist Army on Israeli Borders

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Mount Hermon area in Syria on the eve of the Hebrew New Year, accompanied by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Tamir Yaday. During the visit, Netanyahu stated that Israeli forces now control the area from the summit of Mount Hermon to the Yarmouk River, noting Damascus to the east, Lebanon to the west, and the Syrian Golan Heights to the south.

"We have absolute control of the entire area from the summit of Mount Hermon to the Yarmouk, and from here to the Mediterranean Sea, control that has no precedent," Israeli media quoted Netanyahu as saying. He added that Israel will not permit any "terrorist army" to establish itself on its borders, calling this one of Israel's key achievements during what he termed the "Renaissance War."

Netanyahu also addressed the Iranian issue, stating that "additional work" must be done and that the primary mission is to "decide the fate of the terrorist regime in Iran." He asserted, "We are very close to that. We know the entire axis will fall definitively," adding that Israel is "committed to achieving this and will do it." Netanyahu did not specify the nature of the steps he intends to take regarding Iran or the timeline for achieving the downfall of the Iranian regime.

The Prime Minister's remarks were made during a field visit to the Mount Hermon area amid ongoing regional tensions. Israel has emphasized the importance of controlling strategic locations adjacent to its borders, particularly on the Syrian front. Netanyahu concluded by wishing Israelis a happy Hebrew New Year and commending the IDF soldiers for their work in the region.
