Netanyahu Vows to Defeat Iran, Cites Expanded Israeli Control

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Israel's intention to defeat the Iranian regime, stating that the country is "very close" to achieving this goal. Netanyahu made these remarks during a visit to Mount Hermon on the Syrian side, accompanied by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Deputy Chief of Staff Tamir Yadai. At a military observation post, Northern Command chief Rafi Milo and 210th Division commander Yair Palay briefed Netanyahu on the operational situation.

Netanyahu highlighted Israel's current control over territory stretching from Mount Hermon to the Yarmouk River and the Mediterranean Sea, encompassing areas near Damascus, Lebanon, and the Syrian Golan Heights. He emphasized that Israel has never before exercised such extensive control in the region. "We will not allow any terrorist army to entrench itself on our borders. This is one of the greatest achievements we have made in the War of Return," Netanyahu stated, adding that "even after these achievements, we still have much to do."

He expressed confidence that the entire "hostile axis" would ultimately collapse and reiterated Israel's commitment to completing its objectives. The Prime Minister concluded by wishing Israelis and soldiers a happy Rosh Hashanah and thanking the troops for their service. Earlier, Netanyahu had warned Iran against further escalation during a traditional Rosh Hashanah toast at a government meeting.
