The story · English

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Hermon's Crown in Syria on Wednesday, the eve of Rosh Hashanah, accompanied by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Deputy IDF Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Tamir Yadai. From the position overlooking Syrian and Lebanese territory and the Golan Heights, Netanyahu received an operational briefing from Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, commander of the Northern Command, and Brig. Gen. Yair Palai, commander of Division 210.

Netanyahu asserted Israel's control over the area, stating, "We control the entire area from the Hermon's Crown to the Yarmouk, and from here to the Mediterranean, complete control like never before." He emphasized that Israel would not permit hostile military infrastructure to be established on its Syrian border.

"We will not allow any terror army to establish itself on our border, and this is one of the tremendous achievements we have attained in the War of Return," Netanyahu declared. He also addressed the conflict with Iran, identifying it as the war's central objective. "We are very close to deciding the fate of the terror regime in Iran," he said, adding, "We know the entire axis will ultimately fall. We are committed to doing this, and we will do it."

At the conclusion of his remarks, the Prime Minister extended Rosh Hashanah greetings to Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers.
