Netanyahu Vows Iran Will Not Obtain Nuclear Weapons Under His Leadership
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Thursday evening that Iran will not possess nuclear weapons as long as he remains prime minister. Speaking at the Western Wall ahead of Rosh Hashanah, Netanyahu addressed reports of Iran's renewed efforts to develop nuclear arms, stating, "President Trump announced this evening that Iran is trying to rearm with nuclear weapons, this is true." He added that after Israel destroyed Iran's immediate capability to produce nuclear bombs, "they are trying again."
Netanyahu also detailed Israel's ongoing operations against the Iranian axis in various arenas, specifically mentioning actions in Gaza and Lebanon. "At the same time, we are striking the Iranian axis, not only very hard in the Gaza Strip, but also in Lebanon. We destroyed the Beaufort Ridge and are now dealing with the Ali Taher Ridge," he said. The prime minister concluded his remarks with a brief message: "To be continued."
