Netanyahu Tours Syrian Border, Vows to Defeat Iran's Terror Regime
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conducted a field tour on Mount Hermon in Syrian territory on Tuesday, accompanied by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Deputy IDF Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Tamir Yadai. The visit took place ahead of the Jewish New Year.
During the tour, from an IDF post overlooking Syrian territory, Netanyahu received operational briefings from the commander of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, and the commander of the 210th Division, Brig. Gen. Yair Palai. The prime minister emphasized Israeli control over the entire area from Mount Hermon to the Yarmouk River and to the Mediterranean Sea, stating it was "unprecedented absolute control."
Netanyahu declared that Israel would not allow any "terror army" to establish itself on its border, calling this a significant achievement of the "War of Return." He then focused on the primary task ahead: "to defeat the terror regime in Iran." "We are very close to it. We know that the entire axis will finally fall. We are committed to doing this and we will do it," he stated.
Netanyahu concluded by wishing the citizens of Israel and the soldiers a happy new year.
