Netanyahu Tours Mount Hermon Buffer Zone, Claims 'Absolute Control'

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conducted a tour and received an in-depth security briefing in the buffer zone with Syria, an area Israel has controlled since the fall of the Assad regime. He was accompanied by the Defense Minister and Deputy Chief of Staff for the briefing.

During his visit, Netanyahu praised Israel's strategic hold on the Mount Hermon summit, describing it as a critical security position that grants Israel unprecedented control over the area. He stated, "On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, we are at the summit of Mount Hermon, in the Hermon Crown. Damascus is here, Lebanon is there, the Syrian Golan Heights are there, and we control the entire area from the Hermon Crown to the Yarmouk, and from here to the Mediterranean Sea, absolute control like never before."

Netanyahu pledged that Israel would not allow any "terror army" to establish itself on its border, calling this a significant achievement of the "War of Return." He identified the "decisive defeat of Tehran" as the next major task, asserting, "We are very close to it. We know that the entire axis will finally fall. We are committed to doing this and we will do it."

Concluding his remarks from the area, Netanyahu wished Israelis and soldiers a happy new year ahead of Rosh Hashanah.
