Netanyahu Claims Iran Regime Near Collapse From Syrian Border

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the summit of Mount Hermon on the Syrian side on Wednesday, accompanied by Defense Minister Israel Katz and Deputy Chief of Staff General Tamir Yadai. From the location, which overlooks Syrian territory, Netanyahu received an operational briefing from Northern Command Commander General Rafi Milo and 143rd Armored Brigade Commander Brigadier General Yair Palai. Speaking as the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, approaches, Netanyahu emphasized Israel's military control in the region, stating, "Damascus is here, Lebanon is there, the Syrian Golan Heights is there, and we control all the space from the Hermon summit to the Yarmouk, and from here to the Mediterranean." He described this as an unprecedented "total mastery."

Netanyahu asserted that Israel would not permit any "terrorist army" to establish itself on its border, presenting this as a major achievement of the ongoing conflict. He identified Iran as the primary objective yet to be achieved, declaring, "The essential work is to defeat the terrorist regime in Iran. We are very close to it." He predicted that "the entire axis will eventually fall" and vowed, "We are determined to do it and we will do it."

Netanyahu concluded his remarks by extending New Year wishes to Israeli citizens and the soldiers deployed in the area.
