IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Commander Responsible for October 7th Raid
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency announced on Thursday the elimination of a Hamas commander, Muhammad Mahmoud Marshed Al-Qadi, in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip. Al-Qadi, identified as a commander in Hamas's Nukhba force, was responsible for leading the raid on the Israeli military outpost of Sufa during the October 7th attacks. He also participated in holding hostages in Rafah during the ongoing conflict.
According to the joint statement, Al-Qadi had recently been involved in training Hamas operatives, working to restore the organization's capabilities, and advancing terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians. The operation to eliminate him was undertaken to neutralize the threat he posed.
The strike occurred on Wednesday in Khan Younis. The IDF and Shin Bet stated that Al-Qadi's elimination was a significant blow to Hamas's operational capabilities in the area.
