IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Commander Responsible for October 7th Nova Attack
The Israeli military and Shin Bet security agency announced the elimination of a Hamas "Nukhba" commander, Muhammad Mahmoud Marshad Al-Qadi, in an airstrike in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on Wednesday. Al-Qadi was identified as the commander of a Nukhba commando unit and was directly involved in the October 7th attack on the Sufa military post, where he led the raid.
During the ongoing conflict, Al-Qadi was also implicated in holding hostages captive in Rafah. More recently, he was reportedly involved in training Hamas operatives and working to restore the organization's operational capabilities. The IDF stated that Al-Qadi was planning terror attacks against Israeli forces and civilians, systematically violating the ceasefire, and was targeted to neutralize the threat he posed.
Forces from the Southern Command are continuing operations in the area to eliminate any immediate threats, according to the IDF. The operation aims to dismantle Hamas's military infrastructure and leadership.
