IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Commander Involved in Oct. 7 Raid and Hostage Holding
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency announced the elimination of a Hamas Nukhba commando company commander, Muhammad Mahmoud Marshed Al-Qadi, in an airstrike in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on Wednesday. Al-Qadi was identified as the commander of a Nukhba company within Hamas's military wing.
According to the IDF and Shin Bet, Al-Qadi played a direct role in the October 7th attack on the Sufa military post, commanding the raid. During the ongoing conflict, he was also involved in holding hostages captive by Hamas in the Rafah area. More recently, he had been leading training for Hamas operatives and working to restore the organization's capabilities.
The statement further detailed that Al-Qadi had been advancing terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, systematically violating ceasefire agreements. His elimination was carried out to neutralize the threat he posed.
IDF forces in the Southern Command remain deployed in the area and will continue operations to remove any immediate threats, operating in accordance with agreements.
