IDF Eliminates Hamas Commander Involved in Oct. 7 Massacre and Hostage Holding

The Israeli military and Shin Bet security agency announced the elimination of Hamas commander Muhammad Mahmoud Marshad Al-Qadi in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. Al-Qadi, who led a commando unit in Hamas's military wing, was involved in the October 7th massacre, commanding an attack on the Sufa outpost, and later directly participated in holding Israeli hostages in Rafah.

According to the IDF, Al-Qadi had recently been involved in training Hamas operatives, working to restore the organization's military capabilities, and advancing terror plans against Israeli civilians and forces, systematically violating the ceasefire.

This operation is part of ongoing Israeli efforts to target those involved in the October 7th attacks and Hamas leadership. The announcement follows the recent capture of Hamas internal security chief Mu'ayyad Al-Arabi, with Al Jazeera releasing footage of his apprehension by Shin Bet special forces.

The operation, conducted under the command of the Southern District and supported by targeted Israeli Air Force strikes, lasted several hours in an area near Gaza City. Al-Arabi was captured wounded at the end of the operation.
