Ghanaian Midfielder Amankwaa Forson Joins Hapoel Be'er Sheva on Loan

Hapoel Be'er Sheva has signed Ghanaian midfielder Amankwaa Forson on loan from Norwich City until the end of the season. Forson, 23, is expected to fill the void left by Kinglsey Kangwa and has been registered for the team's Europa League squad. He attended his new team's match against Hapoel Haifa on Wednesday, sitting alongside owner Alona Barkat.

The deal includes a purchase option for Be'er Sheva at the end of the season for four million euros. This figure is higher than the club's usual transfer policy, suggesting the loan is likely to be permanent only if Forson performs exceptionally well. The loan itself is without a transfer fee, partly due to Be'er Sheva's participation in the Europa League, which offers Forson a significant platform against teams like Juventus and Celta Vigo.

Be'er Sheva will cover approximately 300,000 euros of Forson's salary, which is around 900,000 pounds per season in England, with Norwich paying the remainder. Forson's last official match was in late May, and he has faced injury issues, recording 19 Championship appearances last season. He was not included in Norwich's squad for their first three games this season.

Forson was previously purchased by Norwich from Salzburg for an estimated 4.5 million euros two years ago. In Austria, he played alongside Oscar Gloukh, making 23 league appearances and four Champions League appearances, including against Inter Milan. Since moving to England, he has played 40 Championship games and has two caps for the Ghanaian national team.
