Hapoel Be'er Sheva Nears Deal for Norwich City Midfielder Amankwah Forson

Hapoel Be'er Sheva is reportedly close to signing 23-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Amankwah Forson from Norwich City. Forson, who joined Norwich from RB Salzburg for 4.5 million euros, has had a disappointing spell with the English club, marked by injuries and a drop in the team hierarchy.

Last season, Forson played in 20 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He suffered hamstring injuries that sidelined him for nearly four months, impacting his standing within the team. Despite returning in March and contributing to wins, he was relegated to reserve team training at the start of the current season as Norwich sought a solution for his future.

Several clubs, including his former team RB Salzburg, reportedly showed interest in Forson. However, a return to Salzburg did not materialize. Norwich manager David Wagner acknowledged that multiple clubs, both domestically and internationally, are interested in Forson, expressing confidence that a suitable solution would be found.

Israeli sports commentator Eyal Lachman described Forson as a versatile attacking player, capable of playing on the wing and as a forward, contrasting him with Hapoel Be'er Sheva's current midfielder Kings Kangwa, who is a natural central player. Lachman suggested Forson might be more suited to a winger role but could adapt to playing centrally, comparing his style to Dan Biton rather than Kangwa.
