Hapoel Beer Sheva Secures Amankwah Forson on Loan with Option to Buy

Hapoel Beer Sheva is finalizing the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Amankwah Forson, who is set to arrive in Israel on loan from Norwich City until the end of the season. The 23-year-old is expected to fill the void left by King Kangua. Details of the deal reveal an option for Beer Sheva to purchase Forson for 4 million euros at the end of the season. This figure is higher than the club's usual transfer policy, suggesting the purchase option will only be considered if Forson performs exceptionally well.

The loan agreement does not include any loan fees for Norwich, partly due to Beer Sheva's participation in the Europa League, which could serve as a significant showcase for Forson against teams like Juventus and Celta Vigo. Forson's salary in England is approximately 900,000 pounds per season. Hapoel Beer Sheva will cover about 300,000 euros of this amount, with Norwich paying the remainder.

Forson's last official match was in late May, and he has dealt with injuries, making 19 Championship appearances last season. He was not included in Norwich's squad for their first three games this season. Hapoel Beer Sheva was under time pressure to strengthen their squad before the Europa League registration deadline.

Following the signing of defender Idan Nachmias, the club focused on reinforcing the offensive line. Forson's acquisition, a player with experience in England and the Champions League, is considered a high-profile move for the Israeli league. He was previously purchased by Norwich from Salzburg for an estimated 4.5 million euros two years ago. In Austria, he played alongside Oscar Gloukh and made 23 league appearances and four Champions League appearances, including against Inter Milan. Since moving to England, he has played 40 Championship games and has two caps for the Ghanaian national team.
